Frequently Asked Questions

The Status LED blinks green every 2 seconds during the 2-minute initialization countdown, then every 6 seconds once recording. The Wireless LED is solid green when a wireless connection is established. The LAN LED is solid green when connected over Ethernet. See the user manual for the full LED reference.
Position the CTs first, then connect leads in this sequence: Common (white) → Channel 4 (yellow) → Channel 3 (blue) → Channel 2 (red) → Channel 1 (black) last. Connecting Channel 1 last starts the 2-minute initialization countdown and prevents false event triggers during hookup.
The Revolution supports four ways to connect: USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and (on the Cell Revolution) cellular. USB is the simplest — it also powers the unit without AC. For Bluetooth, Ethernet, or cellular setup, see the user manual or call tech support at (800) 296-4120.
The Cell Revolution uses a Verizon cell plan. The SIM and IMEI numbers needed to set up service ship with the unit. Once the plan is active, power the Revolution from AC (the cell modem won't run on USB power alone). The Wireless LED turns solid green when it's connected to the cell tower. Call PMI at (800) 296-4120 for help setting up your data plan.
The Revolution works with PMI's Ultra Slim Flexible CTs (100 A, 1000 A, and 5000 A ranges) and TLAR current clamps (20 A and 200 A ranges). The CT range is set during initialization. You can also run the Revolution with no CTs if you only need voltage measurements. See the spec sheet for details.
